The brief
A$AP Rocky sits at the intersection of music, fashion and visual culture. After years of anticipation, Don't Be Dumb was announced for the summer — an album whose title works as a creative call to action, a challenge to keep evolving, and a quiet nod to his acquittal in the A$AP Relli trial.
The task was a full visual direction for the release: cover art, physical packaging and the digital placements around it.
The direction
Don’t just make. Create. The system blends gritty luxury with psychedelic surrealism — regal detail treated with grain, flare and distortion so the polish never reads as clean.
Confrontational and visceral, with a surreal twist. The front cover is a grillz close-up shot through film grain and colour flares; the back carries the tracklist over a melting eye.
Typography
Forevs — a bold, all-caps serif built to command attention and carry the grit and swagger of the artist. The main headline is treated in metallic gold with bevelled edges, giving the type dimension and a sense of weight.
The family runs Thin through Regular, Black and Super, so the same voice holds from delicate body copy up to statement titles.
Colour and texture
Gold, black, acid pink, red and orange, over film grain and metallic surfaces. The palette does the luxury; the texture does the grit.
